Alan has undertaken large oil painting projects projects, a more recent one being the inside of a church. He also undertakes Portrait Commissions in oils, watercolour and charcoal. Sittings are normally done over 3 days of 2 hours each.

Alan also specialises in landscapes, cityscapes, portraits and figurative work. His unique, fluid style captures the atmosphere of any setting, from the hustle and bustle of city life to the serenity and beauty of rural landscape.

Alan Reed Art undertakes commissions for corporate companies, businesses and private clients both locally and overseas, Particularly in Italy and the Middle East.

Since his first commission in 1981, every client has been delighted with their watercolour painting that Alan has created.

Prices start from £485 and increase in price according to the size and complexity of the subject matter.

PROCEDURE: A consultancy will take place between Alan and the client to discuss the subject matter, requirements and budget for the project prior to commencement of the painting.

A second meeting is needed to go through preliminary sketches and reference in order to determine the final composition.

Although Alan can work from photographs provided by the client, his preferred method is to work on location, producing sketch book studies of the subject painted  “on the spot”  which he supplements with his own photography to determine the ideal composition.
